telling and retelling of 10 all-time favorite traditional folk tales.

  • The images in the download come from scans of my hand-made, detailed felt mask sets and
are brightly colored with easy-to-see features that capture the student's attention.

  • The PDF (Acrobat Reader) format makes it easy to find the mask sets and the masks that you
want to print.  Each mask is on a separate page.

  • Print, laminate, and then use scissors to cut the masks out.  It's that easy!

  • The masks can either be held in place on the face by attaching strings or elastic or can be
glued to popsicle sticks or tongue depressors.

  • Eyes and mouth can be left in for a character's expression or may be simply cut out.

Storytelling Masks provide children with an active, fun-filled
opportunity to retell some of their favorite traditional tales.
This is a
great way to get children involved in their stories
and also to allow
the teachers to evaluate and extend each child's oral language,
comprehension, key story vocabulary, inclusion of important details,
and story sequence.
